Riding Lessons

For Christmas Marissa got a gift certificate for a couple of horseback riding lessons.  So we finally got a chance to take advantage of them.
They spent some time with her teaching how to care for the horse, the names of the equipment used, etc.
This is Tom.  Tom likes to eat grass.  A lot.  Especially when he's supposed to exercising...  Marissa was hoping she would not get stubborn Tom next time.

She would ride around the instructor until she got comfortable at a trot.  Then she's off on her own!
Here she is winning at Red Light, Green Light.
 Whoa!  Red Light!
Her second lesson they made her responsible for more of taking care of the horse.  This is Simon.  Simon is much more cooperative, and is not always hungry.
They always get treats.  Marissa thinks this part is so slimy!
It was a great experience.  Marissa seems to naturally have excellent posture and is very comfortable on the horses.  Hopefully we will have more opportunities for horseback riding.

  1. Sabrina did horses at girl Scout camps and I even did a week long horse camp on our own. It was so fun for her. And I think horse riding is kind of something that should be known, just cause. :)
